PSG College of Pharmacy, a DSIR approved R&D center is driven by discovery research and development encompassing hit identification, optimization using Schrodinger molecular modeling tool, in-vitro screening for diabetes, cancer and anti-androgenic activity. We provide our customers the right infrastructure and tools and enable delivery of their programs successfully. State-of-the-art equipment and secured networks make our facilities unique. Facilities are available to conduct various activities in Bioanalytical research with HPLC, UPLC and HPTLC. Two unique labs in Bioinformatics/Molecular Pharmacology and Drug Design/Therapeutic Drug Monitoring cater to the needs of our PG and research students.

The institute has an air conditioned Animal House, coupled with utility areas like washing and autoclaving area, raw material room for animal feed and a feed preparation room. Our animal house conducts studies using animals, for other colleges/research labs approved by CPCSEA. This is ably supported by cell culture labs that facilitate conducting cell based screening for several mechanistic studies.

PSGCP is housed inside the health campus equipped with NABH accredited 1000 bedded teaching hospital. Ours is an ISO 9001:2008 certified institution. Receives fund from DST, DBT, ICMR, CSIR, UGC, AICTE, DRDO, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science & Technology, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University for research projects, seminars, conferences & workshops. The College has completed four research projects and 6 projects are in progress with a total funding of Rs 480 lakhs. The Institution has 2 patents to its credit.

The College has made collaboration with central research labs, industries, other institutions and universities. The list includes, National collaboration with Annamalai University (Chidambaram), Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Manipal), IASST (Central Laboratories, Guwahati), Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (Trivandrum), Dr Ambedkar centre for Biomedical Research, (Delhi) and Indian Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding Institute (Coimbatore). PSGCP has made International collaboration with University of Toledo (Ohio, USA) for exchange of our students through MOU. Industry level collaboration has successfully been done with AVN (Madurai), Sami Labs (Bangalore) and Stempeutics Pvt Ltd (Bangalore).

The Botanical Garden maintained by PSGCP at the PSG Medical College campus cultivates various medicinally active plants and used by B.Pharm and M.Pharm. students undertaking projects on herbal plants in addition to providing in training about collection and cultivation of natural products.
