The newly opened Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) held a mega rally in the city on 20 November 2018 featuring the theme of Pharmacists and their role in the society.

The newly opened Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) held a mega rally in the city on 20 November 2018 featuring the theme of Pharmacists and their role in the society. Students and staff from many prominent Pharmacy colleges gathered at the PSG-IMSR Sports ground. The President of the IPA Coimbatore Chapter, Dr TK Ravi, Principal Ramakrishna College of Pharmacy and the secretary of IPA Coimbatore, Dr M Ramathan, Principal PSGCP spoke rousingly at the occasion and flagged off the rally. The rally snaked around important parts of the town and finally ended back the PSG-IMSR Sports ground. By all accounts, the rally was a smashing success as the students from all the colleges had a very fruitful interaction with the general public and created better awareness of the Pharmacy profession.

Pharmacy Day 2018 Information Camp at PSG Hospitals 25 Sept 2018.

Pharmacist Day 2018 was celebrated with gusto at PSGCP on 25-Sept-2018 along with support from the local Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association. As part of the day, an information camp was held at the front of PSGCP hospitals informing the general public the role that Pharmacists play in their lives as well as in the healthcare team. People were made aware of various drug interaction and also about the importance of following prescriptions to completion and other important matters like Antibiotic Resistance and safe disposal of unused prescription drugs.

Pharm D Out reach programme was conducted at Karadivavi and Vedapatti village on 17.06.2016 and 18.06.2016. A two day public health awareness programme on Hygiene, Cleanliness, Hand wash, Dengue fever, Tuberculosis and snake bite were given to schoolchildren as well as public. Awareness programme was conducted by means of video presentations, health information charts and Interactive sessions by pharm D interns.
