2022 – 2023

Event Name:PONGAL CELEBRATION

Date: 11.01.2023.

Venue: ARULMIGU MUNIYAPPAN TEMPLE, PSG COLLEGE CAMPUS

On 11thJanuary 2023, the Pongal celebration was held atArulmiguMuiyappan temple, at 9:00 AM and was organized by Semmozhi Peravai of the student council. The celebration was enriched by the presence of our beloved Principal Dr. M Ramanathan, Vice Principal Dr .V Sankar, the faculties, honorable guests, non-teaching staff, PG students, and UG students of all batches making the celebration colorful with vibrant colors.

Offstage events on account of the Pongal celebration were conducted before the celebration day whichincludes, ‘வார்த்தையோடுவிளையாடு’,‘Essay writing(Tamil)’, ‘Connexions(prelims)’ and ‘Elocution(Tamil)’. The occasion was inaugurated by Dr. M Ramanathan, Principal, PSG College Of Pharmacy after which the Pongal was made in different hand-painted earthen pots by the students with the help of faculties. In the meantime, the Rangoli competition was conducted on the college campus. After the Pongal was done, the respective batches expressed their art and joy through dance which was followed by ‘கரும்பு உடைத்தல்’on stage and finally the ‘Men’s Tug of War’. The staff event for males ‘உரியடி’ and for the female staff ‘Lucky Corner’ was also organized, after which the students were asked to assemble in the gallery hall for the proceeding events, on the way to the gallery hall refreshments were given to the students.

2019 – 2020

Event Name:PONGAL CELEBRATION

Pongal celebration was held on 13.01.2020.

Pongal 2019 was celebrated with gusto by PSGCP students and staff. The traditional way of boiling rice and all the other traditional activities were done by students and staff adorned in the traditional Tamil attire.

The Annual Pongal celebrations were held at our college premises jointly with the College of Nursing and College of Physiotherapy on the 12th of Jan 2018. As part of the celebrations, the traditional events of boiling the pongal pot and other sporting events were conducted by the students.
