NSS SPECIAL CAMP REPORT FOR 2017-18
Place : Government Elementary School, Ajanoor, Perianaiyakkanpalayam, Coimbatore district

PSG College of Pharmacy, Peelamedu affiliated to TN Dr M G R Medical University, Guindy , Chennai organized the NSS Special camp activity at Government elementary school, Ajanoor, Perianaiyakkanpalayam, Coimbatore district from 07.01.2018 to 13.01.2018. A Godrej steel bureau, Note books, stationary items and Steel table was donated by the NSS Volunteers for the Government elementary school, Ajanoor, Total of 80 students of 2016 batch from B.Pharmacy and Pharm D along with the NSS programme officer D.Siva Kumar and R. Hari Prasad took part in the camp.

Travel to the camp site from the college. Separation of different teams for efficient camp activities along with cleaning of the camp site. Distribution of NSS bronchures and meeting the village people as a introduction.

Inauguration ceremony was conducted in the vedapatti primary health centre at 9:00 AM in the presence of Dr.Jenith Asbourn, Dr. Sathish, and Dr. Vasantha kumari. Trees were planted in the vedapatti primary health centre. Students were engaged in cleaning the place of stay.
Dr.K. Umaa, Professor, PSG College of Pharmacy conducted a detailed oral session on the topic, “IELTS and GRE Exams”. This was followed by a quiz programme and physical activity .

The NSS Volunteers cleaned and painted the Government Elementary School, Ajanoor, Perianaiyakkanpalayam.
A Cancer awareness programme was conducted for Students and village people by Dr. Jenith Asbern, Associate Professor, PSG Rural Health Centre, Vedapatti.
A General Topic on “Nature and Life” was organized by Dr. G. Syamala, Professor, PSG College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore.

Pharm D Staff Dr. P.Ayyapan, Department of Pharmacy Practice, organized a “DENGUE AWARENESS PROGRAMME” along with the students in ajanoor village.
A Medical Camp was conducted in ajanoor village with the help of PSG HOSPITALS, Peelamedu and PSG Rural Health Centre, Vedapatti. Nearly 100 village people got benefitted.
Followed by Drug Awareness programme by Dr. P. Ayyapan and Awareness on anti microbial resistance by Dr. P. Harish, Department of Pharmacy Practice, PSG College of Pharmacy.

Dr. Karpagam Rajkumar, Yoga and Naturopathy, PSG Hospitals, conducted “ Yoga for General Health”
A visit to Attukkal Tribal Village. A Sanitory Pad Awareness Programme was conducted to the female tribal people. Old Clothes and Stationary item was given to the tribal village students.
Mr. S. Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, PSG College of Pharmacy, took a oral session about Food Poisoning.
Dr. K.Mahadevan, Professor, Skin and STD, PSG Hospitals, Conducted a awareness program on Skin Diseases.

PSG College of Pharmacy, Peelamedu affiliated to TN Dr M G R Medical University, Guindy , Chennai organized the NSS Special camp activity at Government elementary school, Ajanoor, Vedapatti, Coimbatore district from 07.01.2017 to 13.01.2017. A portable water purifier, Note books , stationary items and a ten litre pressure cooker was donated by the NSS Volunteers for the Government elementary school, Ajanoor, Vedapatti. Total of 40 students of 2015 batch from B.Pharmacy and Pharm D along with the NSS programme officer D.Siva Kumar and R. Hari Prasad took part in the camp.

Department of Nutrition, PSG CAS, Coimbatore organised a Recipee development program for the village people , followed by Skin and STD diseases awareness a talk was done by Dr. K. Mahadevan, Professor, PSG IMSR, Coimbatore.

Pharm D interns delivered a speech about safe utilization and consumption of medicines. With the help of PSG Hospitals a MEDICAL CAMP was conducted. Followed by Awareness on Environment Restoration by Dr S R Subramanium , Shanthi Ashram, Coimbatore.

Team Building Activity was organized by Dr. R. N. Balamurugan and Dr. M.Sathish from PSG IM, Coimbatore. Dr. B. Selvaraj, Reader, Government arts college, Coimbatore conducted a Personality Development Programme followed by Yoga introduction and yoga for general health by Dr. Ramya, PSG Hospitals.
