Project details
Research Work (DST-Nanomission, Government of India
- In this research work, we proposed a novel synthetic scheme to produce a silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) core shell surrounded doxorubicin conjugate by electrostatic attraction to be used as an active agent against breast cancer cell line, MDA-MB-453. Green chemistry process envisaged for the preparation of ternary therapeutic nano conjugates (plant active principle, silver, and anticancer drug) to provide maximum cytotoxicity and synergistic effects on MDA-MB-453 human breast cancer cell line. The plant active compound chosen was Andrographispaniculata because of its role in suppressing cancer progression, which resulted in one first-authorship publication (PubMed).
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) work
- The pH-controlled release behavior of Chitosan (CS) coated folic acid (FA) tethered silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) with gemcitabine (GEM)-(FA-GEM-AgNPs)nanoformulationsfor site-specific delivery of drugs to cancer tissues. The aim of the study was to reduce the amount of potent drug exposure to body and to prevent aggregation at deep seated organs, thereby, have the ability to reduce and eliminate tumors without harming the healthy tissue nearby. Both in-vitro and in-vivo studieswas carried out, which resulted in three first-authorship publications (one in PubMed, one in ScienceDirect and one awaiting to be published).
- under the guidance of Dr.V.Sankar, Vice Principal, PSG college of Pharmacy
